The Uganda Wildlife Authority has announced new tariffs for visiting protected areas- national parks and wildlife reserves.
Entry fee for foreign individual tourists has increased by 25%, to $25 for one day visit, while tree days visit fees remain at $35. Fee for a gorilla-tracking permit has increased by 5%, to $378 for foreign tourists, and to $355 for East African residents. Tariffs for Ugandans who visit the wildlife sites have not changed ($3 for one day visit) with an aim of encouraging Ugandans to visit their natural heritage in parks and other wildlife reserves. The new tariffs will take effect on August 1st , 2006. |
